534 :: Peter Hammill (Van der Graaf Generator) - Stage and studio used Doepfer PK88 weighted eighty-eight note keyboard, with custom adaptions *Peter states 'This was my touring keyboard for quite a few years. It's got a lovely hammer action, only midi channel one as it was specifically designed to be a piano keyboard rather than a midi controller. It is housed in a flight case but initially wasn't quite as robust as it might appear. Arriving at a show somewhere in Europe we discovered that the internal chassis had twisted in transit and made the contacts jump out of sorts. Happily, we were able to fix this preshow. On return to England, Neil Perry undertook structural alterations, bracing the whole thing so it wouldn't warp. At the same time he replaced the power supply. There's now a direct IEC socket and an on/off switch and light. So it’s now a much improved instrument.
