Fender American Vintage '57 Reissue Stratocaster electric guitar, made in USA, circa 1985; Body: black refinish with relic ageing; Neck: maple, 2008 date stamp present, purposely relic'd; Electrics: working, 2009 dated pots, pickups upgraded and appear to be Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt '57; Hardware: good, control knobs replaced, spring cavity back plate missing; Case: correct AVRI type light tweed case, original latches damaged with replacement latches installed; Weight: 3.43kg; Overall condition: good * Purchased by the vendor from No. Tom guitars on 31st August 2014. The vendor was told at the time of sale, that the previous owner had sent the guitar to the Fender Custom Shop to carry out the relic finish. The original No. Tom listing, however, states that this guitar is "an early American Vintage 1957 reissue Stratocaster", "one of the 10% that Fender finished in a custom colour". It was said that the electrics were upgraded at the same time. With the 2008 date stamp on the neck and 2009 dated potentiometers, this could be an indication of when this took place.
