Chris used this guitar on his first album 'Whatever Happened to Benny Santini', specifically on 'Dancing with Charlie' for the slide guitar work which he multi-tracked to produce a thicker sound. Footage from the Theatre de l'Empire, Paris April 1979, show Dave using this Gibson Les Paul Special alongside Chris Rea. The guitar was also used by Dave in the Melody Maker Rockpop Contest in 1978, where his band 'The Losers' won.
