Rob Holliday (Gary Numan, The Prodigy) - 1976 Gibson Les Paul Standard gold top electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 00236234; Body: gold top finish on mahogany pancake body, heavy blemishes, dings and scratches throughout as to be expected for a well-used touring guitar, top with lacquer scratching, some oxidisation, dings and other various wear; Neck: maple, heavy surface wear to edges, binding repair to bass hand side of fourth fret position; Fretboard: rosewood; Frets: generally good, refret; Electrics: working, replacement Seymour Duncan 59BL pickup installed to the bridge position and original Gibson Patent number pickup installed to the neck position, original 1976 potentiometers; Hardware: replacement Grover tuners (two chrome, four nickel), replacement jack plate, replacement knobs, upgraded Graphtec bridge saddles, pickguard removed, replacement strap buttons, damage to neck pickup surround (original tuners and pickguard retained); Case: fitted heavy duty touring flight case; Overall condition: fair *Rob Holliday is an English professional guitarist best known as the live guitarist for Gary Numan, The Prodigy and formerly Marilyn Manson. He is also the vocalist and guitarist of his own band Sulpher. This guitar has been used extensively on tour amongst other Les Paul type instruments with all of the artists that he has been associated with. A Les Paul Standard from 1976 is a model that is not often seen, as the Les Paul Deluxe was the production Gibson model at the time. with the full sized humbucker Standard usually being a special order before the reintroduction of the model in 1977. Further to this, the guitar has a gold top finish which is also a rare feature for this model at the time.
