19th century six double course guitar labelled 'Josef Pages, Me Mizo En Cadiz, Ano de 1830...no. 8223'; Back and sides: rosewood, repaired hairline to the treble side, refinished; Top: natural spruce with inlaid foliate pearl and ebony inlays, ornate scrolling bridge; Neck: maple; Fingerboard: ebony; Frets: brass, good, tapering onto sound board; Case: original fitted ebonised case; Nut width: 53mm; Sound length: 640mm; Overall condition: good/restored *Sold on behalf of the vendor who inherited the guitar from Michael and Doreen Muskett, who were touring musicians specialising in early music. They were avid collectors of instruments always on the search whilst on their travels. This guitar being one of a collection of around two hundred instruments from around the world throughout the years. The family are led to believe that this guitar came from a music shop in Spain The guitar was restored by an Anthony J Smith on 15th October 1976. A summary of this work is handwritten on an invoice which is supplied with the sale. The guitar had more recent minor restorations carried out by luthier, Steve Clark
