1962 Fender Jazzmaster electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 4xxx5, neck date stamp October ’62, cream refinish with lacquer checking in places, nicely played in wear to the back of the neck, wear to frets, cigarette burn to the pickguard in the bass horn area, replaced volume and tone knobs, missing bridge mute and chrome cover, later Fender hard case, condition: good for age

CONDITION UPDATE :- Please note that the original neck holes have been filled and new ones drilled to secure to another early Jazzmaster body. The exact date of this body, we do not know. The bass horn rout also appears visible behind the scratchplate. The volume pot appears to be a 90s replacement with new wiring fitted to this part. All other pots appear to date to 1961. Tuners appear to date to 1964 or later. Personal viewing advised.

Provenance: the vendor purchased this guitar from Andy’s Guitar Workshop in February 2007. The body had been stripped down and finished in a mid-brown wood stain. The guitar was then taken to Gordon Wells of Knight Guitars to be refinished
