Sold on behalf of John Renbourn’s surviving family, this guitar is number 20 of the limited run produced. C.F. Martin & Co issued John with both number 1 and number 20 with his family stating that this guitar (no. 20) was his favoured instrument and one that he is seen with mostly during his later years. The guitar is sold with the original C.F. Martin & Co shipping order packing slip from the artist relations department dated 6/7/11 listing the serial number of this guitar and some custom appointments for John including the bindings and a modified low oval neck. The guitar also comes with a receipt from R.V Guitar Repairs dated 12/8/11 stating ‘Set up with notched bridge saddle, lower action, recut nut slots’.
