Mid 1930s Gibson L7 archtop guitar, made in USA; Body: sunburst finish spruce top upon brown finish maple back, scratches to back and finish loss to edges, finish loss within treble waist of side, minor finish loss to edges of sides, further dings and scratches, a few minor stable hairline cracks, top with stable hairline to centre, a few further stable hairlines, dings and minor lacquer checking; Neck: checking and dings throughout, possibly refinished, vacant strap button hole to back of head, dowelled tuner screw holes; Fretboard: rosewood, oxidisation and rusting to upper frets, some loss to pearl inlay; Frets: good, refret; Hardware: generally good, replacement tailpiece, replacement Grover tuners, replacement truss rod cover; Case: period fitted hard case; Weight: 2.48kg; Overall condition: fair * Although the serial number is indecipherable, specifications such as 17" body and an x-braced top would suggest this guitar was made between 1935 and 1938
