Tom Paley - early 20th century Clifford Essex Paragon archtop acoustic guitar, made in England, possibly by Marco Roccia; Back and sides: arched back with heavy scratching and wear; Top: archtop with slight depression around the bridge area, minor wear; Neck: wear throughout; Fretboard: ebony; Frets: good, refret; Hardware: later homemade pickguard added; Case: old fitted hard case; Overall condition: fair * Tom Paley was an American guitarist, banjo and fiddle player. He was best known for his work with the New Lost City Ramblers in the 1950s and 1960s. The guitar is Sold on behalf of the family of Tom Paley, who owned this guitar from the mid 1960s until his death in 2017.
