446 :: David Bowie - original hologram album artwork for David Bowie's 1999 album 'Hours', a striking holographic work within original frame, 20.5" x 20" * Original hologram proof created by the Holographic Image Studio, London, to feature on the front cover of David Bowie's twenty-second studio album 'Hours'. The album was originally released on the 21st September 1999 via the internet on Bowie's website 'Bowienet', followed by a physical CD release on the 4th October 1999 through Virgin Records. It was the first album by a major artist available to download over the internet The cover artwork for Hours depicts the short-haired Bowie persona from the Energetic Earthling Exhausted, resting in the arms of a long-haired more youthful version of himself. The artwork reflects the Christian themes of the tracks and was inspired by the Pieta, which depicts the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Christ.
