Mayfield's Mule - pair of original 10.25" EMI reel tapes of the Mayfield's Mule album, recorded at Abbey Road studios in 1969, one box inscribed '(Job No 65503), Mayfield's Mule (L.P.)' and inscribed with track listings 'Oh! Lady', 'Backyard', 'Queen of Rock & Roll', 'Down from the Country', and 'Abracadabra'; together with a double side Emidisc 33.5rpm LP acetate for the same album *Sold on behalf of Chris Mayfield of Mayfield's Mule. The studio reels were given to the band by the studio engineer at Abbey Road studio around 1970-1971. In the words of Chris Mayfield 'This album was released by EMI in an obscure country to honour their contracts after things went a little strange in 1970. The album was never finished, but has become something of a thing in itself known as 'The Lost Album', with collectors of 60s music. The album has been re-released twice by labels in Europe so far. The album was recorded at Abbey Road in 1969 at the same time The Beatles were recording 'Let It Be' down the hallway. Both reels are mono and play fine, the acetate is off the same album with some scratches on side one and a few jumps here and there' Sold with a declaration of provenance from Chris Mayfield
